Mitsubishi Meldas M65 Ethernet Option HR832B + HR831A with 2GB CF Disk

For sale is a used Mitsubishi Meldas M65 Ethernet option set consisting of HR832B + HR831A, including a 2GB CF Disk.

This option allows file transfer from an FTP server, for example running on a Raspberry Pi or Windows PC, directly to the 2GB CF Disk installed in the Meldas M65 system. The Ethernet connection runs at 10 Mbit/s, which is a major improvement over the standard RS232 transfer speed.

We used this option successfully for transferring and drip-feeding larger CNC programs. Trochoidal milling toolpaths ran without problems using this setup. For comparison, we also tested the same kind of trochoidal toolpaths via 19.2 kbit RS232, but the RS232 transfer would pause or hang every few seconds, making it unsuitable for this type of work.

The Ethernet option makes the Meldas M65 much more practical for larger modern CAM-generated toolpaths (eg. FreeCAD, Mastercam or Fusion 360)
